Although there is more than one way to reach Quinta do Couquinho, whether coming from the North or South, for vehicle protection, we recommend only using the route via IP2.

Coming from the North, you will have to use the IP2: coming from the North (passing the IC5 node with the IP2) you should follow the IP2 until you reach the roundabout, which precedes the crossing of the Sabor River, and use the 1st exit. When you reach a “T” you should turn right following that road until you see a sign with the indication “Quinta do Couquinho” to turn right. Continue on that road until you reach the dam where there is another sign with the indication “Quinta do Couquinho” to turn left.

Follow this dirt road until you pass a small bridge and after the houses/ruins turn left and follow until the buildings of Quinta do Couquinho.

Coming from the South (passing Vila Nova de Foz Côa) you should follow the IP2 until you cross the Sabor River, just after the dam, and when you reach the roundabout you should take the 4th exit. When you reach a “T” you should turn right following that road until you see a sign with the indication “Quinta do Couquinho” to turn right. Continue on this road until you reach the dam where there is another sign with the indication “Quinta do Couquinho” to turn left.

Follow this dirt road until you pass a small bridge and after the houses/ruins turn left and continue to the buildings of Quinta do Couquinho.
